Yeah and about the evils of idolatry too. How many seek, but seek in the wrong places and follow the wrong paths believing them to be right? Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. Only Jesus. From Galations: It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. Christ sets free those who make Him their Lord. Then you finally have the FREEDOM to be all God plans for you to be. But first you have to realise that it is through Christ alone that you can be saved. All your good deeds count for nothing in terms of earning salvation, for some things cannot be earned. Only received by grace and through faith. But then even after salvation, it is so easy to lapse back into the "I earn my rightousness" thing, that's what the Galatians did and that's why Paul was yelling at them. Freedom, yeah. I am FREE!!! Whaddaya think? # Thursday, May 02, 2002 ( 8:53 AM ) MaltaGirl Whew did 3 hours of Thermodynamics in the library this morning and managed to finish my assignment with 16 minutes to spare, I kid you not. :-D Tutoring session was cancelled as J has lots of homework. I am trying to manipulate my schedule for next week to fit in 2 tutoring sessions. Monday: Sunday School workers meeting, Tuesday: Seminar by Brian Gault, Wednesday: Church, Thursday: Discipleship group, Friday: Free so far, Saturday: Worship Xtreme, Sunday: Church. Oh yeah, and plus the tutoring we also have to rehearse a couple of times for Worship Xtreme. *sigh* Not that I'm complaining, mind, it's just astounding how my life can go from zero to 60 in a few short weeks. I am sorta happy to be so busy... I have managed to have decent devotions in the morning for a change these last couple of days. Business helps you get organised! Hopefully this will now extend into my assignments and study ;-) I have started reading Galations as my study, while still working on memorising Philippians. Also using My Utmost for His Highest again, that is a seriously good book. Galations is like a manifesto, it is great. I am finding myself scrawling more and more notes in the margins, exclamations and smiley's :-) Today I had a great idea for a Wide Game for the kids at church one Wednesday. It will take a fair amount of planning, but it will be an event to remember! Maybe in mid-summer. Plans to start up "Wonderful Wednesdays With Jesus" are being formulated, this could be a great summer! All still in the dream stage, but exciting nonetheless... # Wednesday, May 01, 2002 ( 1:53 PM ) MaltaGirl This afternoon I met with Char and we prayed a lot... well, by my standards anyways! We prayed about Worship Xtreme, and we prayed about leading tonight's worship, and also for the members of the church. It was really cool. On the way back to the church after dinner at Burger King, Char's rental car had a puncture right as we were going round a bend in the road. For one intensely scary moment, we were heading straight into a wall, but she managed to regain control. *whew*. One of the songs we picked for tonight's worship was "Grazzi Gesu' " (Thank-you Jesus) ;-) Pastor Edwin (finally) finished the sermon series on worrying. He gave 11 things to do to keep our poise, in the equation "Prayer + Poise + Praise = Peace". One of them was "relax", now there's one I like! It was a good day, although I didn't get much done.
